6 Thoughts Every Metro Traveller Has When They Hear The Words ‘Asuvidha Ke Liye Khed Hai’!
We love travelling by the metro! It’s really convenient, despite the fact that it’s super crowded most of the time; it makes sure you skip the horrible Delhi traffic, despite the Rajiv Chowk mess; it’s pretty pocket-friendly, despite the price hike that takes places every now and then...well, you get the gist. It’s basically a mixed bag of blessings and shortcomings!
But if there’s one thing we definitely don’t love about the metro, it has to be “iss yatra main thoda vilamb hoga, asuvidha ke liye khed hai. There will be a short delay to this journey, we’re sorry for the inconvenience caused!” line. So we’ve mapped out a few thoughts that every metro commuter has when they hear this announcement during their journey!
1. “Great! Now How Will I Explain This To The Boss?”
It’s a Monday morning, you lug your crying self out of the bed and somehow make it to the metro station and then sometime during the ride you hear the announcement of a delay in the journey - adds to all ‘em Monday feels, doesn’t it? But that’s not the only problem. How are you going to explain to your bosses that the amazing metro decided to act up and made you late for an important meeting?! Good luck with that!
2. “Mom Thinks I’ve Already Crossed Rajiv Chowk (Facepalm)”
Explaining to your bosses that you’re late is hard enough but getting your moms to believe that the metro got stuck after you spoke to her last is just next to impossible. She burns a hole in your phones by constantly calling and texting you when you don’t make it home on time (insert facepalm moment). But she means well, so it’s all cool!

So, not everyone is sad with the irritating delays in the metro. There are people AKA pyaar ke panchis who are more than happy to get a few more minutes with their beloved while everyone around them is dying to get out. But why not, just because you don’t have your loved one in a super crowded metro to romance you doesn’t mean others will hold back!
4. “Well, Now I Can Read A Few More Pages Of My Book!”

This is every bibliophile in the city. These guys are more than happy to stand and read than idly scrolling through their phones during their rides across the city. And the best thing that can happen to them is - a few more minutes to turn the next page and finish up the chapter they couldn’t have, had the metro had been on time. Well at least someone is happy!
5. “More Time For People To Breathe Down My Neck? FML!”

It’s no news that the metro is ALWAYS crowded and we bear with this bheed because we have places to be BUT every time we hear this announcement we really just want to scream out loud. Being stuck with people with no sense of personal space or even room to breathe, can it get any worse? Please DMRC, try avoiding this asuvidha as much as possible!
6. “Of Course, The One Day I’m Running Late, The Metro Decides To Add A Little Spice To My Life!”
We saved the best for the last! This is basically every one of us, every day. Imagine, you’re late as usual and when you somehow make it inside the metro and pray to god that it’ll miraculously run at twice the usual speed, it just stops! Like how dare you metro, how can you put me more behind schedule than I already am? It’s my job, not yours!
So, what runs through your minds when you hear this announcement?
